Parenting can look a lot like facing mountainous terrain, on a daily basis. When looking out to the mountains ahead they can often appear to be cast in shadow. The shadow over them is that of my own which can only mean that the sun is shining brightly behind me. To step out of my own head and look at the big picture will always result in new ideas, perspectives and understanding.
My own fears and traumas can be projected making the mountains ahead appear darker than they are. However the warmth of the sun felt on my back gently guides me through my own anxieties.
